Uchikake kimono is one of the most formal styles of kimono. It is worn in Japan by women for weddings or as traditional Japanese stage performance attire. Uchikake wedding kimonos usually have a brocaded design and use vibrant ceremonial fabric patterns. It is worn as the outside layer of dress and doesn't require the tying of an obi belt around it. One of the distinct features of uchikake kimonos is their length; the padded hem of the uchikake is supposed to be dragged on the ground at the back when wearing it. In addition to Uchikake, we carry a wide variety of kimonos for weddings and other formal events, including iromuji kimonos, furisode and other traditional Japanese formal garments.
