The yukata, from the Japanese word for "bathing clothes" ("yukatabira"), became popular 300 years ago as a soft, comfortable robe for wearing around the bathhouse or home. Today, they are not just lounge clothes, but also are worn to outdoor celebrations, fireworks displays, and on warm summer days as casual attire. Once they were made mostly in blue and white, but now designers produce yukatas in all sorts of colors and patterns, and the robes have become the most popular Japanese summer garment alongside Western wear. Made from the softest Japanese cotton, they are perfect for everyday use or a day out at a summer festival!

We have a wide selection of yukatas in colors from the traditional blue to the modern multicolored style, all with beautiful floral and geometric patterns. An inner gauze lining will keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter, so you can wear them year-round. These robes are perfect for bed and breakfasts, resorts, spas, or simply the comfort of your own home!

If you live in a cold climate, our double thick flannel yukatas are perfect for you. Extremely soft, they are warmer than the traditional cotton yukatas. Flannel yukatas are perfect for lounging by the fire on a cold winter day or curled up in bed with a warm cup of tea.

While they are traditionally one size fits all, our yukatas are listed with measurements to ensure proper fit. Imported from Japan, they are made of 100% Japanese cotton fabric, and each comes with a matching belt.
