Golden Clouds and Cranes Japanese Uchikake Wedding Kimono

This striking red wedding kimono is in mint condition. The theme is silver and gold Cranes, which are embroidered with adornments of Chrysanthemums and golden clouds derived from hexagon flowers. As cranes mate for life, they are a fitting symbol of loyalty and commitment in a wedding kimono. The Chrysanthemum has long been revered in Japan representing rejuvenation and longevity.

Designed to be worn by the bride, Uchikake kimonos are worn on top of an inner kimono and obi belt. It is heavily padded at the bottom hem as it is intended to trail as the bride is walking. The elaborate and detailed woven brocade fabric is so striking that the kimono could also be exhibited as a tapestry art-piece within a home or office with Asian themed decor.

Our vintage heirloom kimonos have typically been used in prior weddings within Japan. All of our Uchikake wedding kimonos are imported directly from Japan and are unique. We have endeavored to post as many photos as possible to properly represent any flaws that may exist within the piece.
